When should I interfere?

This is the conversation at our dinner table tonight:

Sarah: Pat look at her glued to this commercial (yes we were watching TV while having our family dinner and it was a tylenol commercial).

Pat: I honestly will not be surprised if she goes into medicine (as a profession)

Sarah: Hey Lynlee, do you want to be a doctor when you grow up?

Lynlee: No...

Sarah: You don't want to help people feel better and give them medicine like Dr. Lovell?

Lynlee: (thinking really hard about it) Um....no I just want to be a clown when I grow up!

That might not be as funny if you weren't here or know Lynlee very well. I'm pretty sure if she saw a clown in person she would be terrified! PLUS, she has never seen a clown or a TV show with one in it. Random. So much for our dreams of having a doctor! I guess we will have to start working on Owen!

  2. Oh, my goodness... I love the things kids say... I had a kid in class tell me that he wanted to be a chef at a fast food restaurant because he loved the food so much. I thought to myself,"How do I even guide this child without killing his dreams...." ha ha!
